Online Case Study, "Engaging & Connecting Executives" for you to review at your convenience to shed more light with an example of how we work with organizations when it comes to training & development and most specifically--leadership development.  eCornell worked with the Institute for Executive Development (IED) and our partner Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) to present & post a case study online highlighting our work together in the arena of Leadership Development.  The American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) recognized this as a key part of why CSC was awarded a BEST award for a second consecutive year last year.

Also, to provide a better perspective on the how the eCornell online learning experience & course model works, I've attached a link to a Flash Demo that is designed to help explain the eCornell Course Model and our mantra of "Structured Flexibility" that has resulted in industry leading completion rates of over 90% across all industries and across the globe in over 173 countries.

An interview with the UNDP's Chief Learning Officer, Tapan Mishra  was just launched recently on Corporate University XChange's home page highlighting the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) use of eCornell for HR Certification for their global HR Community across all 173 country offices.  We have achieved terrific results since June 2006 with completion rates of over 93% and high-satisfaction levels in exit surveys from a truly global audience of HR professionals, Operations Managers and Country Office Leaders. A diverse group of HR and non-HR staff who have benefited from eCornell's learning model and its ability to facilitate interaction & cross-fertilization of participants from multiple industries, countries and areas of expertise. Overall, we are accomplishing the UN's goal of having consistent foundational HR knowledge and skills across the organization. We are also helping the UN accomplish its goal by enabling that to happen in a rapid and globally scalable fashion via the eCornell learning model & portfolio which provides a global e-learning solution that addresses the training challenges of consistency, contextualization to local perspective, cost, time and location.

The United Nations believes that the process of learning cannot be standardized for everyone, and that people cannot be forced to learn within rigid systems. Instead, a desire to learn must be created in each individual by using a combination of 2 key strategies:

* Offering something that is of great value to the individual, in terms of content and process

* Building well-defined partnerships between the groups who require training, and those who provide it

The UN has their own unique process and content that is designed to help their staff learn, and they have partnered with eCornell to develop and help manage a curriculum for their Human Resources Professionals. The curriculum is delivered through a variety of online courses - including 8 generic courses from eCornell - and we are developing 3 of custom courses that focus on the UN system using the eCornell Learning Model and platform.  Upon completion of the curriculum, UNPD employees will earn a Certificate from Cornell University in Human Resources Management.
