Session 414 at Learning 2011
Title: Social Networking & Its Impact on Learning
Room Location: Coronado M
Day and Time: Monday, 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm
Session Format: Supplier Showcase
Led By: David Forry - getAbstract
Session Description: Social networking in organizations is now standard practice to foster learning, competitiveness and profitability. Social media are online tools for social interaction used by social networkers to share information or connect to others. Social learning is learning from others online, which is a collective process. The workplace has embraced social networking as it did email, messaging and the Web, with early concerns about productivity and then full utilization for communicating, collaborating and sharing data. Let us share more about the rapid rollout of social networking's impact on learning and how it calls on leaders to embrace and leverage it.
- Knowledge is everywhere: finding, absorbing and sharing it
- Leveraging social media to better compete on all levels
- Examples, successes and impact on learning
