Join the discussion and bring your ideas for what standards should do to support new learning models for the next 10 years. What has SCORM accomplished? What are its major challenges and what can we look forward to in learning standards?

Led by: Tom King - MASIE Learning Fellow

Tom King is an independent consultant and Masie Learning Fellow with a deep history in learning technology as learning designer, developer, systems vendor and standards advocate. With a master's degree in Instructional Design and over 15 years experience devoted to learning technologies, Tom is actively involved with e-Learning specification groups, including ADL SCORM, AICC, IEEE LTSC, LETSI and others. Tom was instrumental in early implementations of LMS specifications for LAN and web-based systems, and was a founder of Solis, the first software vendor to publish a standards-certified LMS. Solis was acquired by Macromedia and subsequently became IBM/Lotus LearningSpace. Tom continues to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of companies, offering enterprise-class e-Learning solutions and is now Chief Consultant at Mobilemind, providing consulting services to corporate clients and e-Learning vendors.
