Session Title: Competency Systems: We Built it, so Why Aren't They Using it?

Session Number: 825

Room: Coronado F

Day and Timeslot: Tuesday - 2:45pm to 3:45pm

Formats: Learning Story

Session Description: We built a competency assessment/development planning system and were surprised that people weren't using it. Have you ever been involved in creating a performance solution for the right reasons, following the right design and development "rules", and involving the right sponsors only to find that the end user really isn't interested in the end product? After making a significant investment of time and money, that is exactly where we found ourselves. Come share in our lessons learned.

  • Understanding what drives user behavior is critical in crafting your communications
  • Staged implementation will make or break successful uptake
  • How we identified and removed access barriers

Led by: Deb Davenport - Eli Lilly and Company
