Session Description: How can the new iPhone from Apple, with multi-touch and other cool capabilities, be leveraged for organizational learning and mobile knowledge applications? Our Learning CONSORTIUM has launched a project to explore future uses of the iPhone for "m-learning". Spend an hour with this group to design several learning uses for the iPhone.

 

  • Video and audio learning content on the iPhone
  • Mobile collaboration and the iPhone
  • Think outside of the box about the future of m-Learning

Jared Frisby is a media producer for Apple Inc. Jared produces audio and video PodCasts, demonstration videos, tutorials and more to keep Apple's training materials on the cutting edge.

Ez Yap is the Creative Services Manager for Apple Inc. Ez and her team produce, develop and implement digital media solutions to support training and development at Apple.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Led by: Tom King - MASIE Learning Fellow

Tom King is an independent consultant and Masie Learning Fellow with a deep history in learning technology as learning designer, developer, systems vendor and standards advocate. With a master's degree in Instructional Design and over 15 years experience devoted to learning technologies, Tom is actively involved with e-Learning specification groups, including ADL SCORM, AICC, IEEE LTSC, LETSI and others. Tom was instrumental in early implementations of LMS specifications for LAN and web-based systems, and was a founder of Solis, the first software vendor to publish a standards-certified LMS. Solis was acquired by Macromedia and subsequently became IBM/Lotus LearningSpace. Tom continues to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of companies, offering enterprise-class e-Learning solutions and is now Chief Consultant at Mobilemind, providing consulting services to corporate clients and e-Learning vendors.

 

Led by: Judy Brown - MASIE Mobile Learning Fellow

Judy Brown is an Education Technology Consultant who recently retired as the Emerging Technology Analyst in the Office of Learning and Information Technology (OLIT) at the University of Wisconsin System Administration. As such, for six years (2000-2006) she was the Founder and Director of the Academic Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Co-Lab in partnership with the Department of Defense; conducted research on new computer directions and related technologies for the 15 institution UW System; focused on partnerships for improving learning with corporate, government and educational institutions at the Academic ADL Co-Lab in Madison, WI; and represented UWSA on instructional technology initiatives including The Learning Consortium. She continues to work with Elliot Masie and the Learning CONSORTIUM as a Masie Learning Fellow and to work with ADL. She serves on the Army's Distance Learning Training Technology Subcommittee, helps coordinate the eWEEK Corporate Partner Program and writes freelance technology columns.
